I have attended South Lyon Community Schools my entire life, including Brummer Elementary, Millennium Middle School, and currently South Lyon High School. I have enjoyed going to school since I was little and have excelled academically. I have been on the honor roll since middle school and have received awards for excellence in many subjects during high school. Although I have earned all As in my high school classes, math and science have always been my strongest subjects. This year (my senior year), I am taking two AP classes, Calculus AB and Physics C Mechanics. They have challenged me to study harder than any of my previous classes; however, I enjoy the challenge and plan to pursue these subjects at Michigan State University this fall.
I was ecstatic when I received my acceptance letter from MSU this winter. My chosen major is mathematics, and I plan to minor in physics. The courses I have to take to earn my Bachelor's degree in these areas will also help me achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a high school teacher. MSU is known for having the best secondary education program in the country, which is one of many reasons I applied there. I hope that I will be able to excel in college as I have throughout grade school. I am looking forward to a higher level of learning for the next 4 years.
