Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A: I see myself teaching calculus at either South Lyon High School or South Lyon East. I will also be taking summer classes to earn my Master’s Degree, and I will be sharing an apartment with my friends as we pay off our student debts.
Q: If a customer asked you a question, and you didn’t know know the answer, what would you do? A: I would gather as much information as I could to try to answer the question myself. If I did not succeed in helping the customer, I would direct them to another employee or my supervisor.
Q: Describe your school attendance record. A: For the last two years, my attendance has been perfect. In the past I have only missed school due to illness or a death of a family member. I find it very important to show up to school as much as possible because I do not like to fall behind in class.
Q: Tell me about a time when you successfully led a group of people. A: I am a member of SLHS Choir Council. This means I was held responsible for a group of 8 children, consisting mostly of 8th grades and a few underclassmen, during our annual winter choir camp. I had to get them to activities, break up arguments within my group, and help them navigate a school, South Lyon East, that was unfamiliar to myself and my group. I also had to keep up moral even though we were all tired and hungry and had already had a long day of school before arriving to the event.
Q: How would you sell hot cocoa in Florida? A: I would turn up the air conditioning in a bar or restaurant and price the hot cocoa lower than coffee. I could also have a variety of marshmallow options and flavored cookie straws.
Q: What was the last gift you gave someone? A: My friend loves memes and spends most of her time online. She kept sending me variations of the “Wot in Tarnation” meme, so for her birthday I edited a photo of her and captioned it “Wot in Celebration” and gave it to her as a card. She appreciated that I made that especially for her and now it's hung up in her dorm room.
